Summer Learning
Summer often brings something children have less of during the school year: time. Time to explore, linger, try new things, and experience the world at a different pace. It also offers something we recently discussed through Natural Environment Teaching (NET): the chance to let learning happen where life is already happening.
For children receiving ABA therapy, summer can create valuable opportunities that do not always fit neatly into a therapy session. A family vacation, a visit to a grandparent’s house, a trip to the zoo, a summer camp, or even a slower morning routine can expose children to new people, places, and experiences. These moments naturally encourage flexibility, communication, problem-solving, and independence.

In my free time, I enjoy exercising, reading, and spending quality time with my family. These activities help me maintain a balanced lifestyle, strengthen my relationships, and continue learning and growing every day. What I enjoy most about working at ABS is being part of a team that is dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. It is incredibly rewarding to know that, through our work, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families we serve. I look forward to continuing to grow professionally within the organization, learning from my colleagues, and contributing even more to our mission of supporting and empowering the families we have the privilege to serve.
